About IPMAT Exam

Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is a national level test will be conducted for admission to the Five-Year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) in the month of May. As per the IPMAT eligibility criteria set by the conducting body, candidates must have passed their standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks. IPMAT will be conducted in computer-based mode across various test centers in India. Thereafter, candidates who clear the cutoff will further be called for the selection rounds followed by the final admission process.

Eligibility Criteria

It is mandatory to fulfill the IPMAT eligibility criteria in order to appear for the exam. The category-wise academic and age limit criteria are as below:

  • General and NC-OBC Category: Minimum of 60 percent aggregate in Standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations.
  • SC/ST and PWD (DA) Category: Minimum of 55 percent aggregate in Standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations.
  • Age Limit: For general category candidates, the age limit is maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31. The SC/ST category candidates should not be more than 22 years of age as of July 31.

Exam Pattern?

There are a BUNCH of IPM exams for you to write now, since many IIMs have started their own IPM Programs. But usually, The IPMAT is a 2-hour computer-based exam consisting of 3 sections in a section order that is present. They all test high school Mathematics & English, with one exam testing Logical Reasoning. As of now, there's information only on IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak's IPMAT examination.

In short, the IIM Indore IPM exam is 2 hours long. It tests 3 sections - Quantitative Aptitude (MCQ), Quantitative Aptitude (Short Answer), and Verbal Ability (MCQ) - In total, it will have 100 questions carrying 4 marks each. Every MCQ question will carry a negative marking of -1 & short answers don't carry negative marking.

In short, the IIM Rohtak IPM exam is 2 hours long. It tests 3 sections Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability - In total, it will have 120 questions carrying 4 marks each. There will be a negative marking of -1 for every incorrect answer.

IPMAT 2021: Admission Process

Step 1: Fill in the Application form

Candidates willing to appear for IPMAT 2021 need to register for the exam. It must be noted that the application form must be submitted before the deadline. It is advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling in the application form.

The fee is Rs 4130 for the General category/NC-OBC and Rs 2065 for reserved category candidates. Candidates must note that the fee can be paid only in online mode. Candidates can choose to pay the fee by any of the following:

  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card
  • NetBanking

Step 2: Download IPMAT admit card

Candidates who register successfully for the exam will get access to the admit cards. The same will be available at least a week before the date of exam. Registered candidates can download their respective admit cards from the official website by entering their Registered ID and password.

Step 3: Appear for IPMAT

The dates for IPMAT will be conducted in June. IPMAT is conducted in an online mode and the duration of the exam is two hours. Registered candidates need to appear for the exam where they will be assessed on Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).

Step 4: Check IPMAT result

Test-takers can check their results online. The result is generally declared within 10-15 days from the date of the exam. Candidates need to enter their application form number, email ID or Date of Birth in order to access their result.

Step 5: WAT-PI

Candidates who clear the written test are further called in for the WAT-PI process. Shortlisted candidates need to appear for an Essay writing round and are then interviewed by a panelist of IIM Indore.
